From time to time your eyes can focus and you see things clearer
Sometimes you see the truth about the one's you wish to hold nearer
For me it took a while for me to really see
That love isn't written in destiny for you and me

So maybe I'm better off not to see the truth at all
So that I don't end up feeling insignificant and small
Maybe fantasy is better than reality in the end
I know we won't ever be together but maybe it's better to pretend

I know you tell me lies just to keep me happy
But slowly your lying is making me unhappy
Your lies are sweet and softly spoken
Promises like my heart are broken

I see the mask you like to hide behind
But I shall continue to pretend I'm blind
Your deceit is tough but I must say
Regardless of lies of love you anyway

This poem is about when you realise the one's you loved often tell you lies. But yet you can choose to ignore them. Love can make us blind but sometimes we choose to be blind than rather see the truth

Very nice. Usually, when people choose an AA BB CC DD EE etc. rhyme scheme it seems forced, but this isn't.

Wow. Your imagery is beautiful and chilling. It is a very moving piece. The only word you might want to change is 'unhappy', it seems too close to 'happy' and breaks the flow of the piece slightly. Wonderful work.
